Meet Dr. Nithya Chalikonda
Dr. Nithya was born and raised in Bethlehem, PA and received her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from New York University. She completed dental school at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. followed by a General Practice Residency to further her skills as a dentist, at St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx, NY, . The following year, she worked as a general dentist in Pennsylvania. She loved the profession, however realized her true passion was in orthodontics leading her to return to New York once more to complete her Orthodontic residency at St. Barnabas Hospital. The hospital based program gave her a great insight on complex and diverse cases as well as a first hand look on surgical cases and a wide variety of treatment philosophies.
Dr. Nithya feels very lucky to be able to call this profession her career. She finds it so rewarding to work with patients to achieve their goal of a beautiful, healthy smile they will have for a lifetime. She loves the energy, background and stories each patient brings in; and loves getting to know the patient behind the smile!
Dr. Nithya values keeping up to date with current research and literature in order to provide the best possible care, and is always looking forward to furthering her knowledge by attending continuing education courses. Dr. Nithya is a Board Certified orthodontist and is a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists, and Northeastern Society of Orthodontists.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband Kyle, their two young daughters, and with family and friends. She enjoys trying new recipes, yoga, travel, and exploring all Connecticut has to offer!
