BRIUS is a revolutionary, autonomous, custom-made lingual orthodontic system that moves each tooth independently with light forces, without a need for any adjustments. Treatment with BRIUS is much faster than with aligners or traditional braces because it moves the teeth in all dimensions, simultaneously and as efficiently as possible.
BRIUS never stops working from the moment is bonded to the back of your teeth until the day it is removed. With BRIUS, treatment takes months instead of years, which saves you time and money.
The BRIUS Revolution
- Fewer Office Visits: Since BRIUS doesn’t require adjustments, your visits to our office will be few.
- Effective for All Ages: BRIUS has been tested for all ages, from children to adults, and for different cases, including complicated treatments.
- Aesthetic: BRIUS is invisible, because it is bonded to the back of the teeth.
- Convenient: You can brush and floss as normal during treatment to keep your teeth and gums healthier!
- Comfortable: BRIUS applies a very light force to the teeth, which means tooth sensitivity is minimum with BRIUS!
What is BRIUS?
BRIUS is an intricate orthodontic system that is customized for your smile. It is engineered to move your teeth to their ideal position, efficiently and automatically, without the need for adjustments.
Why is treatment with BRIUS faster than braces or aligners?
The secret behind the much shorter treatment time is efficiency and the use of light, continuous forces. BRIUS uses a sophisticated technology to determine the shortest possible path of movement for each tooth toward its final ideal position, independently, without having to wait for the rest of the teeth to catch up.
In addition, in contrast to regular braces and aligners, BRIUS does all the necessary movements of each tooth in three dimensions simultaneously, instead of in stages, using only light continuous forces.
Is BRIUS really hidden from sight?
Yes. BRIUS is bonded behind the teeth, which makes it effectively invisible. Sometimes, we may need to add elastics (rubber bands) that would require clear attachments on the outside surface of teeth, but not every patient will need elastics. If you are asked to wear elastics, please wear them all the time and change them after every meal.
Is BRIUS comfortable?
BRIUS installation is not painful, though the appliance may feel foreign to your tongue when you first get it. Most patients feel uncomfortable for a few days after installation, but gradually get used to it, though some do not feel any discomfort with the system at all.
Rest assured, no matter how much discomfort you experience during the first few days, it will go away. Moreover, since BRIUS does not require adjustments, you will not feel any discomfort or pain during your treatment.
When you start your BRIUS treatment, we will give you wax, which you can use as a cushion to relieve discomfort temporarily. To reduce the discomfort, you can consume cold foods such as ice cream or popsicles. Cold temperature softens the BRIUS and numbs the tongue. If you desire, you may also use over-the-counter pain medication such as Advil® or Tylenol® as directed to control the discomfort better during the first few days.
What should I do if something breaks?
BRIUS brackets may become loose and detach from the tooth surface. If this happens, please contact our office as soon as possible, so we can check and repair them for you. Although it is very unlikely, sometimes the BRIUS appliance itself can break. In such instances, let us know immediately so we can order a replacement as soon as possible.
